Watch for qualifiers at host locations or hold your own. "For those of you who think you can not compete in these qualifiers, it is no different that playing your weekly matches...try it, you may surprise yourself!" -Virginia Jarosz, October Featured Player of the Month. Contact us for more details.

Featured Player of the Month

Terrie Johnson

Keith and Teresa Carlson

Terrie is a 48 year old retired scientist.  Since the age of 17, she has been beating the boys at pool . In the 90s she met her husband Donnie by beating him at pool.  He claimed he let her win to recruit her into the league.  Since then, she has played on numerous teams.  Last year, she became team captain and got a great team together.  She has led the team to the Money Cup win, a City Championship win, and now is headed to Las Vegas!  The name of her team is, "Doing the Charleston."  The team name is a finalist in the Vegas Team Name Contest.  Let's support one of our own by voting for them at  Poolplayers.com.

Because of her association with Charleston City Council and her team's winning the Las Vegas trip, they were invited by Mayor Riley to join him at the podium.  Councilwoman Yvonne Evans, amazed that pool is such an organized sport,  introduced the team and gave a nice speech about how pool evolved from the seedy bars of the old days to a sport enjoyed by people from every facet of life.  Click here to see photos of the meeting.

 Congratulations Terrie!

If you would like to nominate a player for Player of the Month who stands out somehow such as great sportsmanship, knowledge of the rules, great team captain, great teammate, etc., please send your nomination to
