Play Scotch Doubles!

SCOTCH DOUBLES FORMAT

• Must be APA members.
• 2 players on roster.

• Suggested Skill Level Limit is 10 (must be 10 or lower to compet in Vegas).  You may start out as Skill Level 11.  If you are raised to Skill Level 12, you may finish out the session but will not be able to play as a new team.
• Play both 8-Ball and 9-Ball
• Alternate shots
• Use 8-Ball handicap for both formats. 9-Ball is played as a game race to 8-Ball handicap rather than a points race.

APA Game Rules apply with some exceptions which are listed below.

Please consult your Official Team Manual for both 8-Ball and 9-Ball rules.

HOW TO GET STARTED
The first match played is Doubles 9-Ball, then the two highest skill level players play a singles match 8-Ball, then the 2 lower skill level players play a singles match 8-Ball, and the final match played is Doubles 8-Ball with a total of four matches played per night.

HOW TO WIN IN 8-BALL
A team has won the game when all of the balls of his numerical group have been pocketed, and he has legally pocketed the 8-ball in a properly called pocket without scratching. Note: You cannot play the 8-ball at the same time you play the last ball of your category. The 8-ball must be a separate shot.

HOW TO WIN IN 9-BALL
A team has won the game when he has legally pocketed the 9-ball without scratching.

POINTS
One point is awarded for the first three matches, The final 8-Ball Doubles match is awarded 2 points for a total of 5 points per night.

FORFEITS
A bye or complete forfeit is awarded 3 points.

SKILL LEVEL FOR DOUBLES MATCHES
Combine your two 8-Ball handicaps, then divide by 2 and round down if necessary.  This is the handicap your team will play as in the doubles matches.

TIEBREAKING IN PLAYOFFS
Playoffs and championship matches are scored the same as in weekly play.
